Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Systems Technician to join our team at FACT. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all air conditioning units, scheduling maintenance for heating and cooling systems, and identifying and repairing malfunctions in mechanical processes.

Installation and Inspection

The successful candidate will also install required metal ductwork, inspect liquid and vapor instruments to ensure efficiency, and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems.

Compliance and Record-Keeping

They will monitor all processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify and prepare reports for any violations, and maintain efficient records for office and state regulations.

Inventory Management and Project Documentation

In addition, they will manage truck stock inventory, perform preventative maintenance on customer complaints, and document project activities and maintain files for same.

Requirements
  • Education and Certifications

A degree in Engineering from a Technikon or university of technology accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the SAQC, N3-N6/Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the SAQC, and Professional Engineering Technician/Equivalent Field experience accredited by Engineering Council of South Africa.

Trade Test Accreditation

A valid and recognized Trade test accredited by Engineering Council of South Africa.
