Refrigeration Expert

Company Overview: Paqueta Personnel is a leading staffing agency specializing in industrial placements.

Estimated Salary: R550,000 - R650,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Purpose:

• To ensure efficient operation of refrigeration plants with minimal downtime and optimal energy usage.
• To maintain and repair refrigeration equipment and systems, adhering to safety protocols.
• To construct and overhaul refrigeration plants, including compressors, condensers, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.

Key Responsibilities:

• To maintain optimal operating levels of refrigeration plants.
• To supply ice to users without delays, ensuring timely production and delivery.
• To chill water to correct temperatures and flow rates using heat exchangers.
• To maintain cold storage rooms at required temperatures.
• To operate processing freezers according to manufacturer specifications.
• To maintain trio skinning machines with less than 2% downtime.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A relevant trade test, preferably Artisan Industrial Refrigeration Trade Test.
• At least 7 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration plants and related equipment.
• Working knowledge of food processing freezers and refrigeration equipment.
• Experience in Freon refrigeration systems, including air conditioning services and installations.
• Certification to work in ammonia refrigeration plants.
• Familiarity with different types of ice plants.
• Working knowledge of slurry plants.
• Must be criminal clear and willing to relocate to the West Coast.
