Learning Facilitator for Neurodiverse Child

The Neurodiversity Centre is seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Facilitator to support a bright and creative 10-year-old neurodivergent girl.

This role requires a strong background in teaching or education, with experience working with children who have diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment, utilizing multisensory approaches to support the child's academic development.

Responsibilities will include building a trusting relationship with the learner, providing support and scaffolding within their school environment, and assisting with homework and project preparation. Additionally, the facilitator will act as a bridge of communication between the teacher, learner, and parents, and provide instruction to support the child's academic learning across various contexts.

The successful candidate will possess strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with autistic children. They will also be familiar with low-arousal approaches and have a deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

We offer a competitive salary of R18,000 per month, commensurate with experience. This contract position is available from January 2025 to March 2025, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30.
