About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves working closely with experienced Eye Specialists to provide top-notch eye care to patients. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in comprehensive eye exams, performing preliminary assessments and tests, maintaining accurate patient records, and educating patients on eye care procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting vision testing, refraction, and diagnostic testing under the guidance of experienced specialists
  • Performing tasks such as measuring intraocular pressure and visual field testing
  • Maintaining ophthalmic equipment and instruments
  • Educating patients on treatment plans and providing exceptional patient care
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to achieve seamless patient care
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant Optometry qualification
  • An active HPCSA Registration
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
  • Willingsness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary between R28 000 - R35 000 (negotiable), Monday to Friday hours from 8:00 - 17:00, and time off for overtime worked. Our clinic is closed during the festive season.
