Interwaste (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Ecologist to join our team at the Germiston Branch. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our biodiversity and landscape integration policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Biodiversity Management: Define, organize, and prioritize the management of green and natural spaces with the green spaces department.
• Create and/or lead design of a landscape master plan to promote biodiversity on our sites and establish the management/maintenance method for the areas using a 'differentiated management' approach.
• Implement the landscape master plan (planting program and implementation of differentiated management).
• Advise and support operational activities and managers on the integration of the site within Séché Biodiversity procedures and historical view.
• Monitor the landscape and biodiversity integration approach (management system, certifications, fauna/flora/habitat monitoring, specific indicators, specific and regulatory reporting, meeting monitoring, etc.).
• Establish relationships with stakeholders.
• Continuously improve procedures (at group and site level).
• Participate in impact studies to provide expertise.
• Communicate on biodiversity issues and how biodiversity is taken into account within the company.
