Job Title: Chartered Accountant with Manufacturing Expertise

The Talent Room is seeking a highly skilled Chartered Accountant with manufacturing experience to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle of foreign subsidiaries, overseeing day-to-day finance operations, and providing insightful financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full accounting cycle of foreign subsidiaries, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial statements.
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations of foreign subsidiaries, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure monthly management accounts are completed on-time-in-full and provide analysis on monthly operations, proposing improvements and executing improvements independently.
  • Manage the year-end audit process for foreign subsidiaries and lead a team responsible for daily processing of transactions.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to enable effective decision-making and drive financial planning through performance, risk, and opportunity analysis.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and review discrepancies and propose systems improvements where necessary.
  • Maintain statutory compliance with tax and accounting regulations, including OECD transfer pricing guidelines, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for foreign subsidiaries.
  • Take the lead in opening new foreign subsidiaries by conducting feasibility studies, engaging with service providers, and compiling project plans.
  • Review the current corporate structure and make recommendations regarding structural changes and execute proposed structural changes.
  • Manage consolidated cash flow for the group on a day-to-day basis, engage with financial institutions regarding financing, and prepare relevant documents and forecasts for finance applications.
Requirements:
  • A valid CA(SA) qualification with proof of membership to SAICA.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment operating internationally, with experience with imports and exports.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment subject to constant change, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to do research and engage with service providers to obtain relevant information regarding foreign operation statutory compliance.
  • A strong understanding of IFRS and proficiency in accounting software, such as Syspro and Sage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
