About the Role:

  • You will work collaboratively with other developers to develop, optimize, and maintain a custom Rust application for email processing.
  • Your expertise in systems programming and backend development will be invaluable as you refine your skills through mentorship from a senior Rust developer.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop efficient, testable, and reusable Rust modules that integrate seamlessly with Exim MTA services and our in-house API.
  2. Collaborate with API teams to establish best practices and integration processes that ensure efficient email message processing.
  3. Solve complex performance challenges and optimize application logic to achieve cloud-first architecture and deployment scalability.
  4. Provide support and enhancements to the PHP API when required, leveraging your knowledge of API standards and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Fundamental understanding of systems programming and backend development principles.
  • Experience with pub/sub messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Strong proficiency in Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Rust Development Skills:

  • Foundational knowledge of Rust programming language.
  • Understanding of memory management concepts (stack vs. heap, manual memory management).
  • Previous experience with statically typed languages (C#, TypeScript, Java, etc.).
