Job Description

The Junior Developer is responsible for collaborating with Senior Developers to accomplish specific development tasks, contributing to the overall application development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development of applications according to client briefs, adhering to quality standards and agreed deadlines.
  • Communicates progress to line managers and project managers/campaign managers.
  • Raises any issues or concerns regarding development with relevant line managers.
  • Rectifies problems related to applications.
Functional Testing:
  • Conducts functional testing on code developed by him/her.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Identifies process improvements and brings them to management's attention.
  • Documents code accurately.
  • Provides feedback on potential maintenance issues (code or systems needing updates).
  • Maintains task and ticket queues up to date.
  • Keeps the Yonder Media Wiki up to date with details of projects, clients, and technologies.
  • Provides reports as per business requirements.
  • Performs regular uptime monitoring for systems participated in.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Studying towards a Developer-related qualification.
  • Experience with Open-source technologies (solid development experience in at least PHP).
  • Exposure to mobile technology and developing systems beneficial for mobile.
  • Some exposure to database development and maintenance experience (MySQL).
  • Quality driven/customer service orientation.
