Job Summary

This is a site-specific position for the duration of the project, requiring a Civil Engineer Assistant to oversee the construction works in accordance with the Project Specifications, COTO, and FIDIC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit Contractor's compliance to Contract Participation Goals
  • Audit Site safety measures: Supervisory staff and Contractor
  • Attend to Site and Technical meetings and prepare minutes
  • Maintain daily site diary
  • Monitor and assess survey data
  • Monitor and assess all test results and attend to other quality control matters
  • Measure quantities and verify Contractor's monthly payment certificates
  • Review, assess, record, and monitor traffic accommodation measures and incidents
  • Prepare budgets and cashflows
  • Prepare Works Authorisations
  • Programme and expenditure control
  • Attend and minute work schedule meetings with Contractor
  • Prepare site instructions and site memorandums
  • Assist with Contract Report preparation
  • Attend meetings with Community structures such as Public Liaison Committees
Requirements
  • Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience after Qualification
  • Road design and/or Construction monitoring experience critical
  • Candidate Engineer, Candidate Technologist, or Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA)
  • Experience with COTO (COLTO)
