We are looking for a skilled Financial Controller to lead our finance team at Afrikelp and drive financial excellence across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial management principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company's vision and goals.
  2. Financial Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  3. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, conducting thorough analysis and providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizing potential losses.
  5. Process Improvement: Drive process improvements and efficiencies throughout the finance function, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role, preferably in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven track record of driving financial excellence, improving process efficiency, and reducing costs.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and South African tax regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • SAGE Evolution knowledge will be advantageous.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure.
  • A track record of documented successes and achievements.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and changing priorities.
  • Innovative and adaptable.
  • Highly organised and system orientated.
