Job Title: Electrical Estimation and Design Engineer

Job Masters Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimation and Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer within our Estimation Department, you will be instrumental in producing precise and timely electrical designs that comply with both internal and external regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs and provide support for cost estimation and the preparation of tender documents.
  • Ensure that all designs are meticulously accurate, error-free, and delivered within project timelines and tender submission deadlines.
  • Identify relevant codes and standards, plan your work, and perform design modeling, preparing accurate calculation notes and developing detailed designs.
  • Prepare and update the materials take-off, considering design quantities and specifications that do not surpass the allocated budget for the project.
  • Prepare as-built drawings related to the executed work on site and assist project design engineers in developing the Operations & Maintenance Manual for future maintenance work on the project site.
  • Provide assistance to other departments and colleagues, give directives to CAD operators, and perform QA/QC activities for your own, peers, and lower levels' designs.
  • Read tender documents carefully, get a clear understanding of the project's type and scope of work, and discuss requirements and specifications with the estimation team to ensure conformity during the estimation process.
  • Prepare the preliminary design of the bid and/or the pre-dimensioning on time and as per the tender's requirements.
  • Prepare a detailed BOQ to determine and confirm the project quantities to be priced.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to compile the complete project offer, ensuring that all technical, financial, and commercial aspects are accurately integrated, reviewed, and aligned with the tender requirements and the company's standards before submission.

  • Error-free as-built drawings.
  • Timely delivery of as-built drawings.
  • Timely preparation and submission of detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Quality of quotations requested, analyzed, and compared for conformity to project specifications.
  • Quality and timeliness of inputs provided for the estimation scope, ensuring accurate project costing.
  • Participation in compiling the final project offer, ensuring all estimation and technical aspects are accurate and aligned with tender requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • B. Engineering (Electrical) degree or equivalent.
  • ECSA membership (Pr. Eng.).
  • 5 years' experience.
  • Understanding of engineering standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally.
  • Good presentation capability.
  • Good team member with concern for details, effectiveness, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • English and Arabic languages skills – written and spoken, French is a plus.
