Job Overview

AJR Personnel seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Research Coordinator (Contract Position) for our client Wits Health Consortium.

This role will provide support to the research team and patients who have been recruited in research studies, facilitating recruitment and follow-up of study participants. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, and have a sound understanding of the South African public health system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the research team, ensuring compliance with international standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Assist in the preparation of study materials and participate in the training and induction of new team members.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and record-keeping, maintaining confidentiality of all participants' study information.
  • Support patient advocacy, providing support and assistance as required, and assist in the coordination and management of clinical research studies.

Requirements

  • Honours Degree in Science, Public Health, Economics, Social Science, Development studies or Social Development Studies.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working in the health sector or conducting health-related research.
  • Competent in using data collection and analysis software or aptitude/willingness to learn.
