We're looking for a skilled Junior DBA to contribute to our team's success at BET Software. This position offers an exciting chance to take on broader responsibilities and grow with us as we continue to innovate.

This role is suitable for individuals with basic SQL skills and a strong analytical mindset. You'll work closely with senior DBAs, report to the Team Lead, and be part of a dynamic team that supports the Operations department.

You Bring
  • A relevant degree or diploma in a related field.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a commercial environment utilizing a high-transaction database or successful completion of a graduate program.
  • 2+ years' experience in MSSQL - all aspects.
  • Basic SQL skills and query writing skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting SQL skills.
  • Experience in designing/optimizing MSSQL databases.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate advantageous.
Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Design
  • Evaluate database design to ensure it's robust, scalable, and operating optimally.
  • Collaborate with other DBAs to ensure that solutions meet application requirements and performance goals.
  • Active participation in planning meetings, documentations, and testing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation.
Database Performance
  • Assist in ensuring high DB availability, particularly in public-facing web front-end environments.
  • Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
  • Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
  • On-call support as needed.
Monitoring
  • Continuous monitoring of database performance.
  • Leveraging tools and scripts to monitor all aspects of database performance, including underlying compute, storage, and networking.
  • Implementation of high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data securely.
  • Efficient diagnosis and troubleshooting of database errors.
  • Support for the creation and management of database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

  • Recommendation and implementation of emerging database technologies strategically.
  • Development and improvement of processes that positively impact the team's performance and company outcomes.
  • Active involvement in problem resolution, often working outside regular hours to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
