Job Title: Senior Tester

Job Summary:

Genfin Business Finance is seeking a seasoned Senior Tester to lead our testing efforts in delivering high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies, with a strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Design

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough testing coverage.

• Identify testing requirements based on project specifications and user requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute test plans, ensuring seamless integration with development and deployment processes.

Test Execution

• Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects, ensuring timely detection and resolution.

• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing, to ensure software reliability and stability.

• Record test results and report defects using appropriate tracking tools, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Defect Management

• Verify fixes and perform regression testing to ensure defects are resolved, minimizing the impact on project timelines and product quality.

• Identify, document, and track potential defects early in the development cycle, ensuring proactive analysis and mitigation.

• Collaborate with teams to resolve defects promptly, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.

Process Improvement

• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies, ensuring Genfin Business Finance remains competitive and innovative.

• Evaluate and enhance existing testing methodologies, processes, and tools to recommend improvement and increase efficiency and effectiveness.

• Implement best practices and innovative solutions in software testing to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.

Documentation and Reporting

• Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Provide regular updates on testing progress and status to project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.

• Generate test metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement, ensuring data-driven decision making.

Risk Mitigation

• Assess and mitigate risks associated with software releases, ensuring thorough testing coverage and reliability.

• Provide valuable insights to stakeholders about potential risks and the stability of the software, ensuring informed decision making.

Customer Satisfaction

• Ensure that the software meets or exceeds user expectations by delivering a defect-free product, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• Enhance the end-user experience by ensuring the software is reliable, performant, and secure, ensuring a competitive edge in the market.

Requirements:

• NQF 7 – Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a senior role, ensuring the candidate possesses the necessary skills and expertise.
