Installation Technician Role

The Installation Technician is a key competence profile responsible for performing service product Installation, based on the service delivery process for Installation.

Responsibilities and Authorities
  • Manage installation work on site in accordance with Ericsson procedures and customer directives.
  • Receive and check material against order acknowledgement and shipping specification.
  • Maintain a professional image of Ericsson on site, regardless of who is visiting.
  • Report any safety incidents to the appropriate authority.
  • Stop installation work if there is a danger to health and safety or equipment integrity.
Main Tasks

The Installation Technician shall:

  • Manage installation work on site in accordance with Ericsson procedures and customer directives.
  • Ensure working according to installation instructions, manuals, and Site Installation Documentation (SID) provided by Ericsson.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to give special attention to installation work in "Live Equipment" where the risk of disturbances in customer networks is high.
  • Understand safety rules and use of safety materials and tools.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to maintain a safe working environment, conduct safety inspections, and ensure that equipment and tools are in good condition.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to ensure visual inspections and wire testing are carried out correctly, report, and take measures to eliminate factors affecting quality.
  • Write claims, orders, and return materials.
  • Report any changes in Site Installation Documentation/C-module to the Engineering department or Project leader.
  • Provide accurate status information on installation progress to the project coordinator.
