The Recruitment Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the Client Accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely financial statements for offshore and onshore trusts and companies.

Your primary role will involve close collaboration with the Client Accounting Team Leader and other team members to ensure seamless communication and effective execution of tasks. You will also work closely with clients, international accounting teams, and external business contacts to meet their financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial records, including trial balance accounts, and preparing financial statements for offshore and onshore entities.
  • Collaborating with the Client Accounting Team Leader to identify payment requirements and execute timely payments.
  • Systematically filing client agreements and gathering relevant information to inform actions such as issuing invoices.
  • Working with the Investment Accounting team to reconcile investment and bank accounts and prepare financial reports within strict deadlines.
  • Providing external service providers with necessary information to prepare financial reports, tax returns, and other statutory documents within tight deadlines.
  • Liaising with the Trust Administrator and Middle Office Team to ensure supporting documents are in place for client updates.
  • Preparing reports for client meetings and providing local and international tax reporting services.

Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting graduate with completed SAIPA (Professional Exams passed) or SAICA articles (AGA(SA) registration complete).
  • Practical experience in financial services, preferably in a similar role with exposure to both local and international trust structures.
  • Effective communication skills with high-net-worth individuals and experience in deadline-driven environments.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs, STEP accounting, and basic knowledge of trusts and investments.
  • Technical proficiency in Caseware, Xero, and Microsoft Office, with experience in Business Central and Laserfische a plus.
