Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Development Expert to join our team at RareCruit. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing embedded software for digital electronic hardware.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work on a wide range of development activities from high-level requirements to low-level detailed design, implementation, and verification. You will play a major role in generating outputs for projects, including design, testing, documentation, production, and verification artefacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing embedded software for digital electronic hardware.
  • Formal design, development, implementation, and verification of systems, subsystems, and associated software and firmware.
  • Designing and implementing system engineering processes, plans, and policies as applicable to specific projects.
  • Performing minor support roles within the company as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (BSc Eng/BEng) or equivalent.
  • C or C++ proficiency or experience.
  • Linux proficiency or experience.
  • FPGA development proficiency and/or experience.
  • 2-5 years of relevant industry or post-graduate experience.
Desirable Skills
  • VHDL (or equivalent) programming experience.
  • Hardware debugging tools (logic analysers and scopes) proficiency and experience.
  • Python proficiency and experience.
Working with Us

You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team and collaborate on large projects. We value strong problem-solving and debugging skills, as well as the ability to read and understand schematics and PCB layouts. Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, safety critical and industry best practices is also essential.
