Power Systems Design Lead

About You
We are looking for an experienced Power Systems Design Lead to join our team at Engineered Sourcing. The successful candidate will have a strong background in high-voltage power transmission and distribution infrastructure, with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for handling multiple projects and preparing engineering deliverables for electrical substation projects, including layouts, drawings, and construction specifications.
- Perform necessary calculations and studies, including power systems studies on utility and industrial/commercial power transmission and distribution systems.
- Develop project design documentation, technical specifications, and provide detailed design packages that comply with applicable local, international, and client specifications and standards.
- Engage with project stakeholders and team members, coordinating overall design packages and requirements.
- Provide direction and guidance to junior engineers, drafters, and designers.
- Ensure design schedules are met, providing regular status feedback to business unit principals and project managers.
- Coordinate and review technical contract documents and perform contractor design reviews.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment by following the Company's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and applying Safety Management Systems.
- Identify and analyze design changes, modifying design drawings and documents accordingly.
- Manage, attend, and participate in FAT and SAT planning.
- Resolve and respond to technical queries from contractors.
- Plan and coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
- Final handover of documentation as necessary.
- Prepare expressions of interests (EOIs), tenders, and requests for quotations.
- Assist and participate in business development and company marketing activities.
- Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes and Quality Management System.
- BSc Eng or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering with 7 years relevant post qualification technical experience.
- B Tech in Electrical Engineering with 10 years relevant post qualification technical experience at engineering level.
- Professional registration.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
