Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Interventionist to join our team at TN United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized support to individuals with communication difficulties, using a range of communication methods and assistive technologies to enhance communication effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level communication support to individuals with speech and language impairments.
  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, educators, and other professionals to develop and implement communication strategies and support plans.
  • Assist clients in educational settings, workplaces, and community environments to ensure their communication needs are met.
  • Advocate for clients' communication rights and promote inclusive practices in all interactions.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients, families, and caregivers on communication techniques and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and communication support activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Communication Disorders, Deaf Studies, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Communication Support Worker Level 2 or equivalent, with demonstrated competence in supporting individuals with diverse communication needs.
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication modes such as Makaton or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of clients.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and communication aids used to support individuals with communication impairments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach towards clients and their families.
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality and ethical considerations in communication support.
