Peanut Buyer

Quality Connect Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to join our team. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality peanut products from farmers and producers for our client's retail and manufacturing operations.

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing for peanut products
• Identify new suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms
• Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and plan inventory levels
• Review and analyze sales data to make informed purchasing decisions
• Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders and shipments
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulations related to peanut products
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the food industry
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and industry events
• Knowledge of peanut products and the South African market is a plus
