We are seeking a highly skilled Expeditor to join our team at MECS Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of supplier orders, coordinating with internal departments and suppliers to track and expedite orders, and analyzing progress reports to identify potential delays or issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing and shipment of goods by suppliers.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to track and expedite orders, ensuring on-time delivery and minimal disruption to project schedules.
  • Analyze and evaluate progress reports sent by suppliers to identify potential delays or issues.
  • Identify and implement supplier acceleration measures to mitigate risks and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Quality, Project Management, and Engineers to prioritize and expedite orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders and production progress to facilitate effective decision-making and reporting.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize lead times.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in expediting in a large-scale project environment.
  • Experience in an EPC/EPCM environment is advantageous.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes and logistics, including shipping and receiving.
  • Understanding of industrial plant and equipment and associated quality requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in software systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems.
