Accounting Expertise Sought

Sagen Advisory is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join their team in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to build a career in a modern and fast-growing accounting and consultancy firm.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment, and completion or partial completion of SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles. A strong commitment to long-term growth would be viewed favourably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-level accounting duties, including preparation of annual financial statements and tax compliance.
  • Review and prepare financial statements in Caseware, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Compile Annual Financial Statements on Caseware, demonstrating expertise in accounting software.
  • Perform high-level tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Write up complex accounting records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review monthly bookkeeping and VAT clerks, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Calculate VAT, PAYE, and other necessary SARS requirements, demonstrating expertise in tax compliance.
  • Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and financial stability.
  • Payroll and other monthly reviews, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Review work done by supervised staff, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Ad hoc accounting and tax work, demonstrating flexibility and expertise.
  • Client interaction and relations, providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Accounting or a related field.
  • Partial or completed SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA articles.
  • AGA(SA) or PA(SA) an advantage.
  • Experience with CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, Sage, and other accounting software.

Remuneration:

  • R20,000 to R30,000 pm, depending on experience.
