Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

Paqueta Personnel is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team on the West Coast. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our refrigeration plants, maintaining optimal energy usage, and adhering to safe practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, maintain, and operate refrigeration plants with minimal downtime and optimal energy usage.
  • Conduct fault-finding on all refrigeration equipment and systems.
  • Overhaul compressors, condensers, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
  • Construct small and medium-sized refrigeration plants.
Requirements:
  • Artisan Industrial Refrigeration Trade Test or equivalent qualification with relevant training and experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration plants and relevant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of food processing freezers and equipment utilizing refrigeration.
  • 5 years of experience in Freon refrigeration systems, including air conditioning systems (services and installation).
  • Certified to work in ammonia refrigeration plants.
  • Familiar with different types of ice plants.
  • Working knowledge of slurry plants.
  • Criminal clearance.
  • Residency on the West Coast or willingness to relocate to Langebaan, Vredenburg, or Saldanha.
