At the State Investigating Unit (SIU), we are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Legal Specialist to join our team of experts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality forensic legal services during national, provincial, and strategic investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading forensic legal investigations on national, provincial, and strategic projects
  • Participating on multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes
  • Conducting forensic legal investigations on complex projects
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior forensic lawyers

Requirements:

  • BProc or equivalent qualification
  • Admitted as an attorney/advocate
  • Five years of forensic lawyer experience, with two years at supervisory/management level
  • Experience in public sector investigations

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of laws, rules, and legal precedents pertaining to evidence, searching of premises, and conducting interviews.

Sound knowledge of the investigation environment, forensic legal principles, and applicable legislation is also essential.

Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups, particularly Africans and people with disabilities.

The salary offered will be in line with SIU-approved salary scales.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo integrity screening procedures.
