Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the scope of work and material description. This includes researching and identifying suitable vendors, understanding negotiation techniques, and conducting performance reviews on suppliers.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business needs.
  2. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers.
  3. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  4. Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  5. Liaise with operational teams to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. National Diploma or higher certificate in Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain Management (NQF4 or 5), Diploma, or Degree. CIPS qualification advantageous.
  2. 3 or more years of exposure to procurement as a Buyer.
  3. Exposure to relevant Heavy Manufacturing, Mining, or Engineering knowledge.
  4. SAP proficiency is highly important and non-negotiable.
  5. Zero defects of components received.
  6. Supplier relationship management and identification of savings opportunities.
