SavageOne Pty Ltd seeks a seasoned Quality Assurance professional to lead our quality control initiatives in the frozen foods sector.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role:

  • Oversight of daily operations within the Food Safety Management System, ensuring strict adherence to GFSI protocols.
  • Monitoring and reporting on product quality, issuing non-conformance reports and implementing corrective actions.
  • Management of raw materials, work-in-progress ingredients, and finished products, including ordering, testing, and research.
  • Training staff on food safety and quality procedures, keeping them updated on national and international standards.
  • Maintenance of accurate records, including documentation, checklists, and reports on quality control processes.
  • Leadership of sanitation programs, including schedules, chemicals, cleaning protocols, and certifications.
  • Conducting regular product testing during manufacturing stages and ensuring all processes comply with safety standards.
  • Proper management of retention sample systems and development of detailed specification files for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support for clients with finished goods specifications, certifications, and traceability from farm to plate.
  • Leading food safety meetings, reporting non-conformances, and ensuring corrective actions are followed through.
  • Supervision of the facility in the absence of the Production Manager, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with employment regulations.
  • Assistance in production planning, food safety reporting, staffing, and productivity tracking.
  • Contribution to OHS planning and other administrative duties such as invoicing, stock control, and inventory management.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret and relay information effectively.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, ensuring compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including GFSI and HACCP.
