Building Inspector

Role Overview

As a Building Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of new build residential projects across Kent and Surrey. You will act as the principal point of contact with our clients regarding construction quality on site.

Main Responsibilities

• Developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues at an early stage and satisfy all stakeholders with the quality of the construction process.
• Managing multiple social housing projects simultaneously and implementing efficient working practices.
• Providing dictated reports and photographs following site inspections to ensure timely completion and follow-up actions.
• Demonstrating a good understanding of the building and housing industry, including technical and construction awareness, materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
• Maintaining excellent communication skills and diplomatic manner to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience as a clerk of works, quality manager, site manager, or in a building quality assurance role.
• Experience writing professional reports to a high standard.
• Good understanding of industry best practices, processes, and standards.
• Organised and methodical approach to work.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional manner.
