Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead our rail infrastructure design projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in railway engineering, including geometric alignment designs, condition assessments, maintenance planning, passenger stations, and material handling facilities.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce high-quality project deliverables. They will also have a strong understanding of South African and international civil and railway engineering standards and specifications.

  • Drive innovative solutions in railway design using advanced computer software while adhering to established standards and procedures.
  • Deliver specialized technical expertise across railway studies and designs, ensuring accuracy and quality of outcomes.
  • Develop and review comprehensive technical specifications, design calculations, 3D models, and documentation.
  • Perform technical quality assurance reviews to maintain compliance with quality, safety, and corporate standards.
  • Lead and coordinate small to medium-sized teams of multi-disciplinary design engineers.
  • Participate in and lead interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

  • BSc / BEng Degree (Civil Engineering)
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (advantageous)
  • PrEng registered or registrable within one year
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in railway engineering projects
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with South African and international civil and railway engineering standards and specifications
