Cryptocurrency Compliance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program to ensure compliance with local and global regulatory requirements.


• Oversee the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, ensuring all new clients meet regulatory requirements for identification and verification.


• Manage and perform thorough Customer Due Diligence (CDD) for both individuals and institutional clients engaging in cryptocurrency transactions.


• Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients or transactions, identifying potential red flags and suspicious activities.


• Implement and maintain cryptocurrency-specific transaction monitoring systems to detect suspicious activity, report findings, and recommend actions.


• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks related to cryptocurrency activities.


• Develop and maintain robust compliance frameworks to support the organization's adherence to regulatory obligations.


• Design and deliver training programs to ensure staff are aware of compliance responsibilities, AML procedures, and emerging risks.


• Lead internal compliance audits and reviews, ensuring the effectiveness of policies and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.


• Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management and the board, ensuring transparency in governance and regulatory adherence.


• Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies, managing inquiries, audits, and regulatory reviews.


Requirements:


• 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a similar role, with at least 2 years in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.


• Strong understanding of AML, KYC, CDD, and EDD regulations, particularly as they apply to cryptocurrency.


Qualifications:


• Degree in Risk Management or Law.


• AML, CAMS, ICA, or other relevant compliance certifications preferred.


• Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency transaction monitoring tools, and compliance software is a plus.
