Job Description

AtripleA Recruitment & Temps is seeking an experienced Marine Claims Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective claims case strategies to ensure accurate reserve assignments, thorough investigations, and optimal supplier engagement.
  • Acquire and organise relevant evidence and information to accurately assess claim values and identify potential fraud and recovery indicators.
  • Review, resolve, and proactively finalise claims within authority limits, ensuring optimal settlement levels.
  • Prepare reports and engage with reinsurers and global claims on cases exceeding retention limits.
  • Maintain adherence to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the claim lifecycle, ensuring decisions are made using the right standards.
  • Refer to customer-specific claims handling protocols and/or customer proposition service charters to understand and meet customer needs and expectations.
Requirements:
  • Degree
  • 5+ years of specific claims experience
  • Technical knowledge of products and services
  • Expert technical claims handling knowledge across a range of lines of business/claim types
  • Knowledge of legal systems and interpretation of legal liability
  • Knowledge of industry standards and protocol
  • Able to understand claims market agreements in various territories and access relevant knowledge
  • Previous experience in managing and handling difficult coverage issues, with examples
  • Awareness of the litigation process through all courts
  • Knowledge of engaging with lead experts
  • High-level awareness of interdependencies with other Company Functions (Finance, Reinsurance, Marketing, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Legal)
  • High-level awareness of market/industry issues
  • Recognises relevance of customer proposition and how to interpret specific handling requirements
  • Recognise the benefit of providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to articulate prioritisation and working to deadlines
  • Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
Relationships:
  • Report to manager
  • Engage and collaborate with colleagues within the Claims Functions
  • Engage and collaborate with other Functions such as Underwriting
  • Engage and inform internal customer stakeholders
