About the Role

The Financial Manager/Controller will be responsible for:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Prepare, analyse, and present timely and accurate financial statements and management reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, in compliance with IFRS.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain key financial metrics to track operational and financial performance.
  • Assist in budgeting, variance analysis, and cost management strategies.
  • Financial Planning and Forecasting:
  • Support the development of financial models, forecasts, and sensitivity analyses to guide strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Assess financial implications of new lending products and initiatives.
  • Compliance and Control:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Assist in coordinating external and internal audits, liaising with auditors to address findings and implement recommendations.
  • Establish, document, and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimisation:
  • Work closely with finance, technology, and operations teams to streamline financial reporting and control processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in financial systems and workflows.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, ensuring seamless integration with operational tools.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

In addition, you should have 3-5 years of experience in financial control, accounting, and reporting, preferably within a lending, banking, or financial services environment.
