Senior Diesel Mechanic

Our company is a leading provider of time-critical logistics services, operating at over 250 locations across six continents.

We are seeking a qualified Senior Diesel Mechanic with experience in working with small earth-moving equipment and basic knowledge of hydraulics systems.

1. Diagnose, repair, and service our fleet of GSE and vehicles in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications.
2. Complete job cards accurately and on time.
3. Respond to unscheduled breakdowns and repair equipment with minimal delay.
4. Perform regular checks and inspections on equipment and vehicles.
5. Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance as instructed.
6. Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics and GSE general workers.
7. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
8. Conduct ongoing risk assessments and ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
9. Respond to out-of-hours urgent calls when required.
10. Promote and drive the 'Safety First' culture within the organization.

We are looking for a qualified diesel mechanic with a minimum of 5 years' experience and a Grade 12 qualification.

Trade enrichment skills, including welding, electro-hydraulics, auto electrical, and pneumatics, are essential.

Knowledge of GSE, heavy goods vehicles, and earth-moving equipment is an advantage.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to develop good working relationships with various departments and airport authority members.

A valid code 10 driver's license and computer literacy are also required.
