About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing and analyzing financial statements and tax returns, and providing expert advice on all tax and accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and tax returns
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities
  • Provide expert advice on all tax and accounting matters
  • Maintain proficiency in e-filing processes
  • Prioritize tasks under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
  • Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies, VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts
  • Ensure timely filing of VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts
  • Effectively handle SARS correspondence
  • Filing of notices of objections and suspension of debt on e-filing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or higher qualification
  • Completed articles program
  • Preferred affiliations with SAICA, SAIPA, ACC, CIMA, and SAIBA
  • Working experience with Pastel and knowledge of its operations
  • Proficiency in CaseWare software
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an accounting environment
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are essential requirements
