Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching epidemiology courses to postgraduate students, conducting high-quality research in epidemiology and leading a research niche within the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The candidate will also supervise postgraduate students in their research projects and develop and expand the Wits SPH epidemiology research portfolio.

Responsibilities

  3. Supervising postgraduate students in their research projects
  4. Developing and expanding the Wits SPH epidemiology research portfolio
  5. Representing the school in epidemiology discourse and fora

Qualifications

A PhD in epidemiology or a related quantitative field is required. The successful candidate must have at least three years of experience in teaching and research in epidemiology. Excellent skills in disease surveillance and the ability to lead a research team are essential. A strong publication record and ability to secure research grants are also required.
