Microchem Specialized Lab Services - Chemistry Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Chemistry Analyst at our state-of-the-art laboratory in Stikland Industria, Bellville. This role is ideal for BSc Chemistry Honours graduates who are passionate about delivering exceptional results and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Requirements:

  • BSc Chemistry Honours degree
  • 1-3 years experience in an ISO 17025 accredited facility (candidates with no experience may be considered)
Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for beverage and foodstuffs testing, ensuring best laboratory practices are maintained. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing chemical analysis using standard testing protocols
  • Conducting thorough understanding of the principles of chemistry
  • Ability to follow procedures as written
  • Maintaining QA/QC and standard operating procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements
  • Assessing and interpreting analytical results
  • Understanding properties of dangerous chemicals and safe handling
  • Disposing of chemicals according to procedures
  • Organizing tasks and prioritizing work
  • Uploading and monitoring data in LIMS or other databases
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Knowledge of quality control systems
