Job Title: Logistics Manager

Alinta Tech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to oversee our supply chain, inventory management, and import/export operations. This role is vital to ensure the efficient handling of our products and supplies, which is critical for achieving our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Logistics Management:
    • Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to optimize supply chain operations.
    • Manage warehouse operations, transportation, and customer services to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
    • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers to negotiate contracts and resolve any issues.
    • Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency to identify areas for improvement.
    • Organize warehouse spaces and catalog goods to ensure accurate inventory management.
    • Address and resolve any arising issues or complaints to maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Achieve cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets to meet business objectives.
    • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements to maintain a high level of quality and safety.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Develop and optimize inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
    • Inspect levels of business supplies to identify shortages and take corrective action.
    • Ensure adequate product stock for all distribution channels and direct customer demand.
    • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory and identify any discrepancies.
    • Utilize software to monitor demand and document inventory characteristics to inform purchasing decisions.
    • Place orders to replenish stock, avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
    • Analyze data to anticipate future needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
    • Evaluate suppliers to secure cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
    • Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to meet business goals.
    • Report to upper management on stock levels and issues to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Inventory Cost Accounting:
    • Handle product costing, standard cost updates, cost variance analysis, and preparation of cost reports to inform business decisions.
    • Manage inventory reporting and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
    • Perform month-end closing activities and ensure timely and accurate financial accounting related to revenue and costing.
  • Import/Export Management:
    • Ensure shipments comply with import and export regulations to avoid any delays or penalties.
    • Manage insurance, tariffs, and quotas to minimize costs and ensure compliance.
    • Categorize shipments according to tariff coding systems and liaise with customs agents to ensure smooth clearance.
    • Negotiate to reduce taxes and duties to minimize costs.
    • Track shipment locations and utilize the most economical methods for shipping to reduce costs.
    • Oversee warehousing, transportation, and distribution of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Ensure accurate insurance coverage for shipments to protect against any losses or damages.
    Requirements and Skills:
    • Logistics Manager:
      • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager with a successful record in distribution and logistics management.
      • Demonstrable leadership and staff management skills to motivate and direct a team.
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to analyze data and make informed decisions.
      • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects to meet business objectives.
      • BS in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain to provide a solid foundation in business principles and logistics management.
    • Inventory Manager:
      • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar position with a strong track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
      • Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills to anticipate future needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
      • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., ERP) to utilize technology to inform business decisions.
      • Ability to accurately track inventory and generate reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
      • Strong analytical mind with solid math skills to analyze data and make informed decisions.
      • Excellent organizational and planning skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
      • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff.
      • Reliable and trustworthy to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
      • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Logistics, or a relevant field; CPIM certification is a plus to demonstrate expertise in inventory management.
    • Inventory Cost Accountant:
      • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) with experience in handling full spectrum accounting functions, including Cost Accounting, Forecasting, and Reporting.
      • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., Palladium, Pastel Evolution) to utilize technology to inform business decisions.
      • Strong team player with high attention to detail to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff.
    • Import/Export Manager:
      • Bachelor's degree or five years of relevant experience in import/export management with a strong track record of compliance and accuracy.
      • Computer and management skills to utilize technology to inform business decisions.
      • Proficiency in other languages is desirable to communicate with international suppliers and customers.
      • Certified professional is preferred to demonstrate expertise in import/export management.
