Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled FMCG/Pharmaceutical Buyer to join our team at Emporium. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring high-quality materials and finished goods to meet production and sales requirements within the pharmaceutical or related sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and finished goods at competitive pricing to meet production and sales requirements.
- Review material requirement reports weekly and replenishment orders as required to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure safety stock levels are achieved, especially on critical products, to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
- Expedite and follow up on deliveries daily to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Generate weekly reports to monitor low stocks and backorders, highlighting actions to be taken to rectify stock levels.
- Manage orders placed to prevent out-of-stock and overstock situations by deferring or cancelling orders as necessary.
- Collaborate with planners to reschedule orders and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Source vendors and review vendor performance to ensure high-quality products and services.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification
- Purchasing or Buyer Diploma or higher
- At least 3 years of experience as a buyer in a FMCG or pharmaceutical company
- Experience or knowledge of Forex and shipping
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Oracle skills are an advantage
