Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Professional to manage and optimize our large-scale systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. As a key member of our team, you will design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient deployment and automation of testing and monitoring processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and automation of testing and monitoring processes.
  • Manage and optimize cloud environments, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Monitor systems and applications in real-time to detect and resolve issues proactively, ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of the infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to facilitate seamless software development and deployment, participating in code reviews and providing feedback on architectural decisions and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring that all infrastructure is compliant with security standards and free of vulnerabilities.
  • Identify bottlenecks in system performance and collaborate with the development and operations teams to optimize applications, databases, and services.
  • Write and maintain clear documentation related to system configurations, workflows, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on CI/CD, automation, and cloud technologies.
  • Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in South Africa and willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
  • Ideal age range for candidates: 23-32 years.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and GitLab, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and web application firewalls (WAF).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
