We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated quantitative researcher to join our epidemiology portfolio, working on cutting-edge public health research questions that contribute to the improvement of health policies and programmes.
Job DescriptionThis is a fixed-term contract position based at our head office in Johannesburg, but may require occasional travel within Sub-Saharan Africa and globally.
- Contribute to Research Development: Assist in designing and implementing research projects, including developing standard operating procedures for data collection.
- Data Management: Oversee data collection, entry, and management, creating analytical datasets and ensuring high-quality data.
- Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large datasets using statistical tools and work with senior researchers to develop original research manuscripts and abstracts for publication and presentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Masters' degree in epidemiology, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of research experience or comparable professional experience.
- Expertise in data analysis software (e.g., SAS, STATA).
- Self-motivated with excellent administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel internationally for short periods.
