We are seeking an experienced Draughtsperson (AutoCAD) to join our team at Job Masters Pty Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting steel structures, including walkways, grating, balustrades, handrails, trench covers, stair treads, and minimesh. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure accurate designs that meet project specifications and safety standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD for steel walkways, trench covers, handrails, balustrades, stair treads, and other structural components.
  • Ensuring all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Interpreting and incorporating design feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.
  • Producing accurate and clear fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Modifying designs based on site measurements, material specifications, and client requirements.
  • Assisting in preparing Bills of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates for steel fabrication projects.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to review and refine project designs for manufacturability and installation.
  • Maintaining and organizing design documentation and ensuring all revisions are updated.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in a similar role (preferably in steel structure design). Proficiency in AutoCAD with experience in steel-related design is essential. A strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes, particularly for steel components, is also required. In addition, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications is crucial. Relevant certifications in AutoCAD are highly desirable.
