Satellite Manager

To effectively manage satellite operations and logistics, ensuring superior Customer Service and excellent stock utilisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Customers are dealt with professionally and efficiently in the yard regarding deliveries, collection, stock related queries, inter alia.
  • Communicate clearly with all internal staff in all processes as required.
  • Manage deliverables of all staff, including yard and temporary labour, using corrective progressive discipline as required by Labour Law obtaining assistance from HR when needed.
  • Deal professionally with Sales and Admin team and assist with queries.
  • Optimise stock utilisation and ensure minimal stock losses through efficient stock control management in conjunction with Regional Demand and Transport Planner.
  • Ensure stock availability for Customers with minimal need for cross hire by following procedures required by Satellite with regards to Cleaning & Repair timeously to ensure availability for Customers.
  • Check and monitor damaged hire goods returned and keep good records and proof by means of the CaRe program.
  • Ensure correct documentation and pricing on outsourced transport, cross-hires, etc. in line with Company strategy.
  • Efficiently manage operating expenses, including purchasing for operational maintenance.
  • Manage site assets, minimise risk and ensure good housekeeping, including issuing normal H&S PPE and following COVID 19 protocols.
  • Oversee time and attendance of staff and submission of required information and leave authorisations to Payroll for payment of salaries.
  • Implement work schedules and operational plans as per goals set by Operations Manager to achieve Company strategies, keeping daily production records up to date.
  • Follow Cleaning and Repair Policies and Procedure to be followed to ensure PERI product is carried out to specific standards as per PERI handbook and Rental criteria.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance.
  • Utilise operating systems properly and maintain them well.
  • Effectively manage transport and outsourced distribution logistics in conjunction Regional Demand and Transport Planner.
  • Maintain equipment such as forklifts and ensure operators licences are valid.
  • Cycle count regularly and manage stock takes.
  • Secure staff and premises at all times.
