Swim Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at Brio Leisure. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons and aquatic sessions to individuals of all ages and abilities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the Swim England 'Learn to Swim' programme, focusing on the 'Learn to Swim' framework (Learn to Swim Stages 1-7).
• Apply the 'Brio Learn 2 Swim Scheme of Work', in accordance with the week number of each lesson cycle.
• Teach a range of organised aquatic disciplines at appropriate levels/stages of ability, including swimming, life-saving, synchronised swimming, diving, and water-polo.
• Contribute towards prompt time-keeping of the daily lesson programme, including efficient running of class change-overs.
• Ensure the safe use and storage of equipment, maintaining a hazard-free environment.
• Assume responsibility of a Level 1 'assistant teacher' and utilise to maximum learning effect, in accordance with the agreed aims and outcomes of the lesson.
• Maintain participant weekly attendance registers and update participant achievement records as required.
• Engage in a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including self-assessment, peer observation, and Aquatics Lead observation.
• Liaise with participants, parents, and Aquatics Lead as required.

Requirements:

• SEQ (Swim England Qualified) or equivalent Level 1 and Level 2 swimming teaching qualifications.
• NPLQ or NRASTC qualification (desirable).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver the Swim England 'Learn to Swim Programme'.
• Passion for swimming and commitment to providing high-quality lessons and aquatic sessions.
