Taxation Expert

WVM Business Accountants is seeking a highly skilled Taxation Expert to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the calculation of taxation owing by entities and individuals, as well as the completion of statutory returns.

Main Responsibilities:

• Calculation of taxation owing by entities and individuals.
• Completing of statutory returns e.g. EMP, VAT, etc.
• Liaising with clients directly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Processing and reconciling of Petty Cash and cash control accounts.
• Keeping of a fixed asset register.
• Process journal entries.
• Reconcile debtors and creditors statements.
• Analyze the resulting trial balance for mistakes / deviations and be able to discuss the results with the client.
• Ability to record books from insufficient records.
• Produce a set of financials according to generally accepted accounting practice and a working paper file according to the standards per the training file.
• Calculate the tax liability for sole proprietors, individuals, close corporations, companies and trusts and partnerships.
• Calculation of PAYE/UIF/SDL levies and VAT.
• Completion of statutory returns e.g. UIF/SDL/PAYE/VAT.
• Reconciliations of input/output VAT to annual financial statements and monthly trial balances.
• Compiling and discussing with the client of monthly management accounts.
• Perform basic administrative duties as needed on a day to day basis.

Qualifications:

• Matric with Accounting.
• BCom degree or equivalent degree with Accounting and Taxation.
• Caseware Experience.
