About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Maternity Cover English Teacher (Grade 5 to 7) to join our team. As a Resident Teacher, you will lead instruction and planning for subject or grade level classrooms and work closely with Deans of Instruction to drive a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver rigorous, enquiry-based lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
- Prepare students for English Checkpoint exams and ensure they meet their full potential.
- Deliver impactful and engaging enquiry-based lessons using technology to enhance instructional delivery.
- Observe, coach, and mentor new teachers to ensure they excel in their roles.
- Infuse joy and passion for learning into lessons, making them exciting and relevant for students.
- Set ambitious goals for students and provide regular feedback to help them improve.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and adjust instructional content accordingly.
About You
- A Bachelor's Degree in English with a PGCE is required.
- SACE registered.
- 2-3 years of teaching experience.
- Cambridge English Checkpoints experience.
- Ability to lead a classroom independently.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to student success.
- Understanding of and enthusiasm for enquiry-based, student-centered learning.
- Ability to connect with students and create a positive learning environment.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
