About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operations Officer to join our client, a Chapter 9 institution in South Africa. As a key member of the executive team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in driving the organisation's operational strategy and delivering exceptional results.

About the Role:

The Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for leading the operational strategy and management of the organisation, working closely with the CEO and other members of the executive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a meaningful contribution to the success of our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to the Provinces, Information and Technology Report, Human Resources Department, and Communications Department.
  2. Operational Management: Manage the company's operations, including daily tasks, reporting, and compliance.
  3. Performance Planning: Develop and implement annual performance plans that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.
  4. Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of strategic projects within the company.
  5. Resource Management: Prudently manage the organisation's resources within budget guidelines and relevant legislation.

Requirements:

  • South African Citizen
  • Master of Business Administration, LLM, or equivalent (NQF 9)
  • A minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a human rights environment or 3 years executive management experience, working within human rights bodies.
  • Training on good governance will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in the following fields is critical: Human rights, social sciences, law, communications, information technology, and organisational development landscape.
  • Experience as a transformational leader with strong managerial skills, a clear vision, and focused action.
