Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Academic Development Coordinator to join our team at the University of Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality development opportunities for senior tutors, tutors, academic staff, and academic heads of department.

About the Role
  • Conceptualise and implement development opportunities for academic staff, senior tutors, and tutors.
  • Conduct training for mentors and tutors.
  • Supervise tutors on all campuses.
  • Consult with academic staff and senior tutors regarding the tutor system on all campuses.
  • Perform general administrative functions.
  • Any other duties as required by the Head of CASD.
Requirements
  1. A post-graduate degree in Education, Staff Development or Educational Psychology, or a cognate field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience working in Higher Education and/or 1 year working in academic staff development.
  3. A working knowledge of the South African Higher Education environment.
  4. Excellent written, oral, and electronic communication skills, especially in English.
  5. Commitment to further studies, preferably in higher education.
