Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Diabetes, a key component of the Endocrine service within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in diabetes and/or a specialist nurse role, with evidence of continuous professional development and education. They will possess excellent organisational skills, strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within the team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the leadership and coordination of a dedicated team of nursing and administration staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality Diabetes care.
  • Have responsibility for the assessment and management of patients with diabetic conditions while as inpatients.
  • Provide an individualised health education programme prior to hospital discharge and assist patients in managing their condition and adopting a healthier lifestyle by addressing identified risk factors.
