Job Summary
The Technical Designer will be responsible for creating models, arrangements, and drawings according to standards using relevant computer software. This includes generating models and drawings, developing detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD equipment, and ensuring proposal/costing drawings have no errors and parametrics are used for automation.

Main Responsibilities
- Generate models and drawings
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD equipment
- Ensure proposal/costing drawings have no errors and parametrics are used for automation
- Set uniform standards for design/drawings and manage accordingly
- Compute mathematical formulae to develop and design detailed specifications
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or reduce production problems
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and procedures/instructions to be followed

Requirements
- Design calculations are completed to ensure soundness of the design and custom designs are drawn up to suit customer applications
- Produce bill of materials for each design and maintain drawing register database according to company requirements
- Document, control, and use engineering standards in a professional manner
- Set up, maintain, and improve administrative systems for production division activities
- Load PDA and create works order in JDE and update as required (in areas where applicable)
- Adhere to procedures, design specifications, ISO standards, quality, and safety standards, and integrate into design

Customer Liaison/Team Support
- Consult with colleagues/customers regarding design, layout, or detail components and systems to resolve design or other related problems
- Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems
- Supervise initial installation of designs when required to ensure all customer and internal design requirements are met
- Provide on-the-job coaching for junior staff, technical support, and lead projects as required
