A challenging opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Commercial & Financial Manager to join our client, a well-established sole service provider to Africa, in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town.

R660k – R900k per annum (negotiable based on experience).

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial management function and driving business growth through effective financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and control.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management
  • Assist the board of directors in developing company policy and ensuring timeous and meaningful production of financial results.
  • Provide directors with meaningful management information and introduce cost awareness and effectiveness.

Accounting

  • Institute effective control systems and monitor compliance to maintain security over company assets, liabilities, income, and expenditure.

Budgeting/Forecasting

  • Assist in determining budget parameters and provide guidelines with economic indicators.
  • Produce annual budgets in sufficient detail for monthly comparison with actuals and quarterly profit forecasts with variance reporting against budget.

Treasury

  • Maintain a system of cash management for maximization of investment income and security of company funds.
  • Attend to financial aspects of business transactions involving foreign currency.

Asset Control

  • Ensure compliance with capital expenditure policies and procedures.
  • Enforce strict credit control and ensure assets are protected by adequate insurance.

Legal

  • Ensure activities comply with Memorandum and Articles of Association and Companies Act.

Computerisation

  • Manage development and operation of computer systems.
  • Supervise development and acquisition of new software.

Liaison with Statutory Bodies/Specialists

  • Liaise with auditors, attorneys, consultants, receiver of revenue, and conduct internal audits of company operations and systems.
