About the RoleThe Hospital Benefit Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring that our members receive the appropriate level of care. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing cases based on clinical history, information, and coding supplied;
- Managing benefits for members and mitigating risk through a thorough approval or decline process;
- Discharge planning by providing members with alternatives for treatment; and
- Effective communication with stakeholders, including providers, patients, and internal teams.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A valid SANC registration;
- 3 years of experience in a private hospital setting, preferably in ICU, trauma/casualty, medical/general ward;
- 2 years of experience in managed healthcare; and
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel.
