About the Role

The Hospital Benefit Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring that our members receive the appropriate level of care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing cases based on clinical history, information, and coding supplied;
  • Managing benefits for members and mitigating risk through a thorough approval or decline process;
  • Discharge planning by providing members with alternatives for treatment; and
  • Effective communication with stakeholders, including providers, patients, and internal teams.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A valid SANC registration;
  • 3 years of experience in a private hospital setting, preferably in ICU, trauma/casualty, medical/general ward;
  • 2 years of experience in managed healthcare; and
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel.
